Collection launched: 25 Apr 2017
This special collection identifies and evaluates contemporary trends in the humanities. Cultural theory and the philosophy of history have witnessed an innumerable sequence of turns and trends, ranging from the 'linguistic' to the 'cultural turn', and from the 'material' to the 'post-human'. Several of these trends are discussed in this collection, including an introduction to New Materialism and a discussion of the Anthropocene. Rosi Braidotti, among others, has indicated that humanists must grapple with these new areas of scholarship in order to remain engaged with the humanities, which in her view face a ‘crisis’.
